Along with many others, I got to know William via word-of-mouth. I reached out to William exactly one year ago, and was able to set up an appointment with him almost immediately (two days later). He got back with a proposal one month later, full with 3D renders for every single space - the living room, kitchen, bedroom, toilets, which was impressive. You honestly cannot expect this from most companies, especially when we had yet to commit to William at this point in time. We were impressed with the attention to detail, and committed to William then even though he comes at a slightly higher price tag (~80k+ for a 5-room BTO renovation, excluding electrician cost and appliances). But you pay for what you get! Through the renovation process, there were countless meet-ups to redo the renders as we wanted to save some costs here and there, and William did not hesitate to take our requests into consideration. He also continually arranged meet-ups for us to confirm our tiles, lighting, bathroom accessories, positioning of electrical points, and positioning of aircon. For most of the process, we only had to turn up and agree/disagree to his proposals or suggestions. We also made many last-minute changes to our electrical points, which he quickly informed the electrician about; his response is almost immediate, and he fixes everything within days. In fact, even after carpentry was confirmed, we surprised him by informing him about a water dispenser that we wanted to install beside our tap. He immediately made changes with his workers and arranged a small area within the carpentry (15cm width) so that our water dispenser could fit exactly beside our basin upon our request. Most impressively, our house renovation started in late-Nov, and he managed his workers to finish everything by end-Jan as requested by us, a timeline that was extremely tight. We made an incidental visit during the whole renovation process, only to find out that his progress was faster than what he gave to us on the proposed progress timeline. We fully trusted him and did not even bother to make a second visit after. There were many other small things that I appreciated, such as William having painted the entire house despite the fact that a large part would be covered by the feature wall, the effort to hide ugly trunking within his entire design, small cutouts behind our carpentry to show the full marbled glossy tiling of our wall, and returning for rectification and arranging for follow-up marble gum buffing after we told him about a scratch we noticed on one tile upon moving in. While there are certainly imperfections in our renovation (small things like remnant white paint on the windows, small 1mm hole on our wardrobe), the great attention to detail have far outweighed the minor imperfections.
I will recommend William for people who are:
- Aligned with his style of Modern Lux home designs, you can look through his portfolio on his website (he loves using wood, mirrors, fluted panels, and bold colours like gold and black to bring out the effects of his designs)
- Not overly budget-conscious. His quote is not ridiculous, but it is certainly not the cheapest in the market. Nonetheless, you can trust that there is no VO; the quote that you sign off on is the exact amount that you will pay at the end, barring any additions that you may make along the way.
- Not too particular about the items you want (i.e. if you want to source for your own tiles, your own curtains, your own vanity cabinets or wardrobes from Taobao as an example, then it might be a little difficult as William has his preferred suppliers for these items and own workers for carpentry, and he will settle the delivery and set-up completely on his end).
- Not too much of a micromanager.
William was a good choice for us as both of us were very busy individuals, and he could fully run the project like his own, updating us periodically on the progress. My husband and I have now turned into total homebodies. Thanks Willis Design! Also a shout-out to Wilson who helped us with our defects check as well. They are a small and very close-knit company, and their excellent partnership sees many projects coming to fruition as a team. Rather than attaching pictures of my renovation (which are available on his website), I decided to attach some screenshots of the partnership with William instead. We renovated at a time during COVID, first circuit breaker between Feb-June 2020. Everyone had only good things to say when they visited our home post-Reno. We had multiple built in cabinets, at an okay price.
Timeline - delayed due to Covid
Budget - Yvonne managed to work something out with us, to fit our budget strictly.
Pre-Reno: Yvonne ran through with us the designs and concept she had in mind, as we did not have any thoughts or inspiration to show her. We fully let her design our home.
During Reno: We ran into multiple hiccups as for 2 months we were unable to get any renovation work done due to COVID. There were some misunderstandings, but Yvonne and her team assured us that she will hasten the process and help us Reno our place ASAP.
After Reno: Workmanship was excellent. We had mostly no issues. When there were issues even after 1 year, Yvonne was quick to the task and helped us settle issues like ceiling heater leaking, vinyl floor damage from scratches while moving etc.

I just purchased a resale flat not long ago. The previous owner did not take care of their unit well. I employed them to design my flat.
From 3D design to fully reno, they really took it very seriously. Also got give professional opinion that which furniture, lighting I must take. They also will accompany you to the particular shop where they think the product the shop sell will be able to last, not because of the design looks good, quality also counts.
After sales service also they follow up quite well. No doubt your paint or woodwork, lighting got problem, they will do their very best till 100% and follow up.

I enjoyed their services very much. They were professional, helpful, creative, and good in their work. My renovation requirements were complex because it was a partial renovation of a 5-rooms HDB. Some things I wanted to salvage and others not. I even have an altar with deities on top of it. William helped me to do up a new altar and helped to migrate the deities back, all in accordance to the proper protocol. My mother was very happy with it.
Not only are existing furniture laying around, I also gave William a tight timeline because I was renting a place outside to stay for the time being. They managed to complete within the promised time despite changes in requirements along the way! I believe that they were more accommodating and agile than other ID companies because William is the project manager + designer + owner of their own carpentry workshop.
Overall, we received more value back from the price we paid. Renovating an existing place is already a big headache. William and Yvonne made the whole process a lot more bearable. Glad that we trust our instinct and went to them.

Without Qanvast, we will never had the opportunity to meet and engage with so many IDs and eventually found Willis Design that is able to grasp our concept and transform our ideas into actual practical dream home design.
When work is finally commenced, we encountered a few tricky show stoppers from HDB, BCA, etc etc.. William and Yvonne were working and communicating with us closely to meet our deadline without much hassle.
